Local Artist Work On Display At The Randleman House

Don took a beautiful piece of native bass wood and carved historical landmarks in it. Both the large and small log cabins from the Carlisle Park are prominently displayed in the upper right corner. He carved an amazing rendition of the Palmyra Church in the upper left corner and across the lower portion he added the Hartford gazebo, the Presbyterian Church and the Hartford School. It took Don over 40 hours to create this beautiful work of art. The carving took second place at the recent Iowa State Fair and has been donated to our society. The piece is on display at the Randleman House at 245 Pennsylvania in Carlisle. Please visit us to see this wonderful piece, plus artifacts and pictures from our local history. Thank you Don, for this wonderful and unique display.
