“Zouave Sanford Randleman, son of Capt. M. C. and Elizabeth Randleman, was born July 3, 1861, at Carlisle, Warren County, Iowa, where he has spent his entire life with the exception of a few years spent in Des Moines, while operating a manufacturing business. Mr. Randleman was an inventor by trade and he brought to the public several useful articles, which provided him quite a business for some time.
He was never married and after he retired from active life, he lived alone on the farm near Randleman’s Lake, northeast of Carlisle. He later moved to the home of his brother, Bert Randleman, near Carlisle, where he has since resided.
He is survived by his brother, Bert and two sisters, Mrs. Florence Prall of Livingston, California, and Mrs. Flora Ralston, of Los Angeles, California, and a number of other relatives. While he has been in declining health for some time, his death came unexpectedly Friday morning, April 13, 1945, following a heart attack.
He was 83 years, 9 months and 10 days old.
Funeral services were held Sunday, April 15, 1945, at 2:30 o’clock, at the Cheesman Funeral Home and interment was made in the Carlisle cemetery. Rev. E. E. Josten, pastor of the Methodist Church, conducted the services.”
